Dilated Pupils

Hi Guys,
My cat is about 2 and 1/2 years of age. Hes always been a very affectionate and loving cat. About 1 day ago we noticed that he had an upset stomach and dilated pupils. We took him to the vet and got him tested for leukaemia, thank God that came back as negative.
A day later his pupils are still slightly dilated and he has a fever. He is still eating and drinking and he doesnt seem to be dehydrated as his skin isnt sticking when you pull it up (didnt quite know how to explain that, but I hope you guys understand what I mean)
He is slightly lethargic compared to his normal self, but if he is still feeling a little nauseous Im sure he would be, I know I would any ways.
Is there something that I should be worried it could be? Or is this likely to just be a gastro bug of some sorts that will blow over in the next day or so?
The vet couldnt really offer me any more help other than to scan for possible neutrological issues

I hope things go well with your vet!  Please keep us updated!  Poor baby!  Lots of hugs to you and your "fur child" as ZQ so sweetly calls them.  :)

Hugs,
Janet

Thanks for the advice guys, Im going to take him to our regular vet, unfortunately it was late at night when we found him and had to take him to a 24 hour vet.

His pupils have gone back to normal, but he still seems to be battling with a sore stomach, to the point where he's not walking properly.

The vet did give him an antibiotic while we were there, but it doesnt seem to have helped him.

As for him eating something, its virtually impossible to know but I dont think so. He's neutered and doesnt really stray much past our front door.

Ill let you know what our normal vet says.

Usually when my cats have a fever, my vet will automatically put them on antibiotics.  It actually makes me feel better when my vet does that.  I don't like taking chances.  Did your vet put your cat on antibiotics?  I would call and request them.  It's a great precaution to take.

PS-Freaking awesome that you knew about the scruff of the neck test for dehydration.  Many people don't know that.  You made my day reading that!  =D

Is there anything he could have eaten that you don't normally have around the house?   Have you had this same vet for very long?  Maybe another opinion?  I don't want to scare you, but if he ate something like let's say a "tiger lily" he could be very sick.  Some flowers and plants can be extremely bad for our pets.

But, he could just have a kitty bug too.  It does happen.  Is he feeling any better?

I'm sending good wishes and hugs your way!

Hugs,
Janet

you might want to try and go to a vet that doesn't see your cat and get a different opinion.
