At last!!! Good news!!! Go S...!!!!!!!!!! :)
LOL and then they say cats are weird, there you have a puppy wanting to stick his nose in the cat's butt...hahaha...
He is all muscle!!! He is almost bull legged in the front as he is so big boned. Even the vet says he is one big boy!!!
He is angered right now as i am babysitting my daughters pup and he likes to stick his nose in Snickers butt!!! The beagle is chapped too!!!!
I still feel bad as that had to be so scary for him. I hope they forget that sort of stuff. I am just so thankful he is okay and for all of you!!!! sara the beagle and S
Hi hon,
Just my two cents... I'm glad that Snickers is doing better. I totally know how scary these things can be!
You are a great cat person, a role-model for us all. Thanks for keeping us posted!
Give Snickers a kiss on the nose for me :)
So glad to hear Snickers is improving.
He certainly sounds like a big strong boy : )
It must be all muscle, lol.
Wow, Misha looks fatter than him and she's around 10 pounds. I think she's actually lost weight this year. She's getting to be a little old lady!
So glad Snickers is getting back to normal! If he's interested in the birds again then you know he'll be ok! My cats like to watch the birds outside the window too. I know they'd love to be out there with them!
Give Snickers a hug from me, and head butts and rubs from Misha and Sakura along with lots of purrs!
OMG-20.2 lbs???? Good Lord!!! LOL. He doesn't look like he weighs that much in his pics! Were they recent pics?? I saw no big belly on him, or anything!! =D Unless he's hiding it! Okay, tell S to spill his secret! LMAO
Good news.........Snickers is sitting on the end table right now watching the cardinal that is out in the back yard. Those birds drive him nuts!!!! He ate during the night and he looks better this morning. He has that wrinkle inbetween his eyes so he is feeling better!!!! He is still limping but not as bad. The water dish is still in tact so hopefully he will be feet deep in that soon!!!! LOL
Did i tell you the young man weighs 20.2 lbs!!!! Vet said he looks great!!!
This is Hissie's momma Lynn. I am so very very sorry about poor little Snickers getting hurt. I am glad to hear though that you took him to the vet and that he is slowly improving. You have been so helpful and kind to me, that I wanted to send you and your sweet Snickers HUGS, HUGS, HUGS!!! I am so happy this turned out well for Snickers and you. I well know what it is like to worry so about our beloved kitties. Hissie says this to Snickers, "Hang in there boy. Sending you purrs for being so worried about me. Now, I am better. And you will be, too. PURR, PURR, PURR." Keep us updated, but so happy and relieved that Snickers will be fine with a little time. GOD BLESS
Sara-rest easy cuz Snickers is definitely improving. He's eating now and washing himself. I bet that he'll continue to make improvements everyday! You'll have your wild man back to his normal self in no time! =D
I still feel so bad. Poor little(big)thing. It is so weird here with him being so quiet. He is always getting into something, chasing the beagle, batting at my ankles, wanting to hang off the counter trying to see in the refrig and now he just lays and sleeps. I realize it is only 1 day but he is a busy kitty in a 24 hr period!!! The beagle just sleeps and eats now so that is normal for her. Guess i will just sit here on the couch again tonight and watch the both of them sleep..............I was up most of the night watching him......I need a nap!!!!
Gee, is the vet saying animals are smarter than humans? Hmm, maybe! They know when to rest and we don't, lol. Ain't that the truth! And the thing is animals, like babies, know when to eat and when it's best not to, like when they're sick or hurt. I heard that the body heals itself at night while we're sleeping, so maybe his body just needed some time to concentrate on healing last night instead of digesting food. Makes sense to me!
Do watch his liquids at least, though. If you need to, take a syringe with water and squirt little bits in his mouth. Hopefully, he just needs a couple of days to mend and will be bouncing back in no time!
Still praying! God cares too! :)
Oh yeah, he didn’t greet you at the door but that’s just because he decided he’d rest to heal faster to be able to jump on the Snoopy water dish and mess the whole thing up. He is a smart fella. He knows what he is doing, trust that! I bet he is now thinking of his next move………blowing up litter boxes has now become obsolete with the introduction of new technology.
Snickers,
This is Abby. I left Dillan playing with the fish and stole PK’s computer to let you know that I am going to your house in a few days to have another party. You’d better get better soon pal. I am sending you head butts now. All is well my furiend. I will be meowing for you!
Abby.
He lays so quiet right now but the vet said he would do that cuz when animals are in pain or healing up they lay still to heal unlike humans who push themselves. He didnt give him any pain meds...he said TLC will heal him faster. He was grooming himself on the couch when i got home but didnt come and meet me at the door. I have that lambs wool blanket that he is laying on. He did eat some food during the day so that is good. He isnt climbing into the Snoopy water dish tho and now i wish he was!!! Usually he climbs in and throws water all over......I am going to stick close to my boy again tonight. I bet he thinks i am nuts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sara,
See????? Some injuries heal on their own !!!! I am thrilled with this. He will have a perfect little healthy leg before you know it. I am so, so happy about it.
Woo-hoo! Yay! I'm so happy to see the good news :)
Three cheers for Snickers!
I was so happy to hear that Snickers is gonna be fine!!! THANK GOD!!!!!!!!!! =D
YAYYYYYY!!!
Hi Sara,
Oh, I'm so glad Snickers is not seriously hurt. Thank God for that! Poor Kitty and poor YOU. I can certainly relate to freaking right out when it comes to my girl being sick or hurt. Us owners are usually more of a mess than our pets, lol. Our first vet that cared for our cat that died was just awful as far as people skills went. When we had to put her to sleep, she acted like it was no big deal for us. She even missed the vein TWICE, and of course our cat is screaming and we are in complete shock watching this. It was awful. Needless to say, we switched vets when we got our Jade, and the doc we see now is just awesome, but I must say, not quite as good as yours you lucky girl : )
Did Snickers need pain meds or did the vet think that wasn't necessary?
Cats are tough and I'm sure Snickers will be good as new in a few days : )
Sara:
I just read this and so glad to hear Snickers is okay! WHEW!!! Poor thing though!
By the way, Snickers looks just like my mother's cat, Rusty. They both live with us. Rusty has decided that he owns me now! He won't leave me alone! LOL!!!!
Well, I hope Snickers heals well and has no pain!
Hugs,
Janet
I'm so glad to hear that, Sarah! Thanks for letting us know.
*Hugs to you and Snickers!*
Just got back from the vet. He has no broken bones or internal issues. He does have a very sore leg and the vet said it would heal on its own and animals will take care of their injuries..... He wants to see him in a week to make sure he is getting better........He said i was in worse shape than Snickers!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks everyone for their comments and help. You are all the best!!!! sara, the beagle and S
How's he doing? Are you taking him to the vet? Still praying!
So, how is our boy doing today?
Sarah, anything you need just let me know. I may be miles away, but for him I’d do anything. Some injuries heal on their own. I am hoping that this will be the case. You are very scared right now. You do not need more stress, so I will pray for the best, hope for the best, and wait to see the best outcome. I am positive that S will bounce back, that poor thing. I am so sorry this happened to him. I know this is hard to accomplish because I am one who gets terrified when something happens to my cats. But, don’t be scared my darling. Your cat is another trooper. Don’t think of bleeding or brain issues as it will only make you even more terrified. Keep watching him, and keep me in the loop. Stay positive and don’t think of anything bad, or at least try, ok? What I do is I look for sings like grooming, playing, and purring. If these are present then it means he feels ok. Is he doing that? Will you take him to the vet?
I know bleeding in the ears seems a little far-fetched, but that happens with people, too with a head injury. I've heard/read that with internal bleeding, there could be bleeding from any body opening.
Well, glad that Snickers is doing alright! I will check back later when I get home from work!! Good luck at the vets!! =}
