Hissie

I really am not knowing what to post right now. Hissie is so-so at very best. Been doing the pediatric electrolytes and feeding her lamb baby food by syringe. I did manage to give her a gentle warm bath in the bathtub last night. She was such a stinky pitiful mess from all the diarrhea and peeing on herself. She has bounced back maybe ever so slightly. The diarrhea seemed to have slowed down almost to a halt. She even had a solid BM. Just a little while ago, she was out in the dining room with us. She is dropping semi-diarrhea drops now. She is up moving around some. But, at a very slow pace. Hiss is meowing some. Like she is in pain. Hiss has such huge bright pretty eyes. There is no life in them. She is attempting to eat on her own, but just showing little interest at all in her food. I do believe she tries for my sake. Maybe that sounds some silly. But, I know my old girl.

Something went terribly wrong during this last vet visit. When we took her into the vet, she was constipated. But, not terribly so. We just took Hiss to the vet, to ward off the constipation growing worse. She had done really good the past few months. When we took her to the vet the other day, she was still perky enough and doing pretty good. What the vet sent back home to us a few days ago, is just not the same cat at all. Vet admitted she had changed brands of cat enemas. This new enema was just too much for Hiss for some odd reason. God only knows why at this point. Because I surely don't. Honestly, I do believe something else is going on with Hiss, that has not been found by this vet. Cancer keeps entering my mind. Maybe I am wrong. But, something is very wrong with this poor little kitty. I am still not certain at all, that Hissie is going to make it. Someone said as her owner, I would know. I have this awful dreaded feeling in my heart. Paradise has always visited Hissie when she is sick. Paradise will lay for hours back in the bedroom with Hiss. Paradise will not go into the bedroom whatsoever, since Hiss has taken so ill the last few days. I know other animals can sometimes sense things in other animals.

I just read the post on the 22 yr. old Maine Coon kitty. Bless the poor kitty's heart. I could read in the owner's words, the love that they felt for their kitty. I truly feel for this kitty and the owner. I though agree on something this person said. At this point, we have decided on as well, to keep Hissie comfortable and do what we can for her. But, there will be no more vet visits. Honestly, I believe all the vet visits, has just helped tear Hiss down, too. Cats this old, just get worn out, especially if they have health issues. The vet gave me several enemas to give to Hissie here at home. But, I simply will not use this new brand that the vet just gave me. If anyone has any enema suggestions for me, then I would just so deeply appreciate it. I have nursed this poor kitty for 5 mths. I know I can give her an enema as well, if and when she needs it.

Please my sweet caring friends, keep praying for our Hissie girl. It has been a long and hard battle. I have tried to be positive even when times looked bad for Hiss. But, there is just something about this most recent bad turn. Little girl is simply worn out. I can see it in her. And she is nothing but skin and bones now. Our hearts are simply breaking. But, if it is time to let her go, I pray for God to take her mercifully. In the meantime, I am by her sweet little side, doing all I can possibly do for her. Thank you my dear kitty cat friends. Without this forum, I would be a royal mess for sure at times. God love and bless each one of you.

I swear to God, I think that the new enemas your vet used has messed Hissie up!  Please ask your vet to recommend an enema brand that you can use at home.  I would not let them use those new enemas again on her.  Then once your vet tells ya what brand is safe, you'll be able to do it at home and Hissie will be much happier not being stressed out at the vets.

By the way, what an awesome idea to try to prevent her from getting obstructed by taking her in BEFORE she gets to that point.  Perfect idea.  =D

Lots of hugs and well wishes coming at ya!!

Hi,
I don't know the whole story of Hissie, but I am so sorry.  I just checked the forum and saw Hissie's story.  My prayers go out to Hissie and you.  Can you get her to an ER Hospital, or does it seem like it's her time soon? It sounds like you are doing everything now to help her.  Let us know how she's doing.  God bless and prayers for your little Angel.
