Snickers is hurt...........

I just found out about an hour ago that Snickers fell down the steps today.  He was laying at the top of the steps and someone came around the corner and didnt see him so he got stepped on and then fell.  I was at work when this happened.  I noticed when i got home he didnt greet me at the door and hasnt eaten today.  He is walking very slow and with a limp.  He always sits on my lap when i get home but he didnt tonight.  I have placed a call to the vet so am waiting for a call back.  He has been laying down alot.  I have felt him all over and he doesnt squirm and he always gets mad when i mess with him........I checked the litter box and didnt notice any blood but i am really scared right now.  He doesnt want any food, water nothing.  His ears are up and his eyes look okay.  Would i know if he had internal injuries?  I hope he is okay........I will just die if something happens to him..... sara

:( I'm sorry, Sarah Pooh :(
Will continue to pray for Snickers and you. I understand your pain and worry :(
You're such a good pet owner, Snickers is lucky. I hope everything turns out well. Please do let us know what the vet says when he sees Snickers in the morning.

You really have a freaking awesome vet!  I am jealous!!!!  My vet is good, but he would not go out of his way like your vet would.  If a vet lives up to my high standards, then you know he's good.  LOL

I am glad that Snickers is resting and comfy!!  That's good and shows that he's not in pain.  That should be very reassuring to you that he's able to rest comfortably, there's no blood in his ears, and his pupils are equal sized!!  Bleeding in the ears is a sign of internal bleeding.  Other signs of internal bleeding would be blood from any body opening-bloody stools, vomiting blood, or peeing blood.  Also, the stools or vomit could be black.  If, God forbid, you see any of that, then you'd have to rush him in.

Focus on the good signs!!

I tried bribing him with some chicken and he sniffed it and that was it.  He seems to be resting comfortably right now but i am going to be watching him.........My vet is great and very down to earth.  He knows i get all worked up and knows how to deal with me!!!!  That is a challenge in itself!!!!!!!!!!  If they have internal bleeding do they throw up??

Well, hon-we can breathe a sigh of relief! that the pupils are fine and there's no blood in his ears.  Thank God!  =D  That should make you feel a lot better.  It should also make you feel better knowing that your vet is willing to make a special trip for you and Snickers.  I know my vet wouldn't ever do that!  You've got an awesome, very caring vet-definitely a keeper!

Have you tried giving Snickers some meat to see if he'll eat?

There is no blood in his ears and i checked his pupils and they seem to be fine.  I did that while i was talking to my vet.  He wants to check him out in the morning just in case.  If he should start vomiting during the night he will meet me at the office.  I am going to stay up and watch him.  When he does stand up he sits down right away.  He doesnt want to eat.....only sleep.  Even the beagle isnt messing with him tonight.  I have both my babies next to me right now.......
