Stray Kittens

Last week two stray kittens - maybe six mths of age - followed us into the house.  They had been hiding under the BBQ  cover because of the cold.  Because they're strays we have kept them separated from our other two cats because the strays might have FIV.   We're having them tested for it tonight or tomorrow because we want to keep them.

All our cats have been born at home except these two so I wondered if there is anything else I should be doing for them.  They are in a large crate, have a litter box, they eat and drink well and don't have fleas or ticks.  Parasites they have to be tested for I think

If there is anything else that we should be doing for them, please let me know.

I've never seen it.  Maybe the Akita and the beagle should watch it and get some ideas.  Is it a good idea to make a public post about world domination?  The cats did it and now the dogs want to be part of it.

The Akita wants to tell the beagle to hang in.  The dogs are plotting an "old female dog" world takeover against the cats.  IP and A are not happy about that.

We both know about bad MN weather....  When does it end --June?

She is having an off night.....She is curled up next to me right now as she didnt want to go to bed tonight.........Suppose to have a vet appt tomorrow but our weather is going to be just nasty again so dont know if anyone will be going anywhere.  She is a fighter and stubborn as stubborn can be!!!!

I'm so sorry Sara.  I honestly didn't think it was as bad as this.  If you need us, we're here.  Yes, I'm speaking for Wolfie, April, PK, and myself.  I know how much we like ya and care about you and your furry babies!  PM us if you need to vent, need advice, feel like swearing at me (think you'd be talented with this! :D) or anything at all.

My thoughts and prayers are with you during this stressful time.

The beagle is very lethargic today.  Is in kidney failure and has a mass in her underside....

Going to bed right now... (I had an evening nap which threw off my whole night), But I hope for the best. Please let us know how those tests turn out. I'll probably wake up around noon time...

I talk to her all the time......just have been avoiding this conversation.........She is going to the vet tomorrow and have some tests........Maybe S injected her with cat hormones or something!!!!!

Is April coming over to clean the litter up now???  LOL  S didnt spend too much time in his crime lab today......He has been with the beagle.......

Sarah - I'd be having that talk with the beagle right now.  See what she wants.  Personally, I'd try the hormone treatments if she is not in pain, it the side effects aren't too drastic, etc.  Our Akita gets injections for her arthritis along with other "meds" and I'm glad she get them even though I don't like giving her meds.  The beagle will tell you what she wants in her own way.  Listen to me talking like I know what I'm talking about and I wear SpongeBob jammies and never watch Barney.

I saw IP and A with a package from April - I saw the return address.  Later I heard an explosion and kitty litter was flying all over the basement.

She had a few more accidents tonight....I put a piece of plastic under her blanket and pillows and put one of those blue chucks underneath her.  Tomorrow i am taking her in for some tests........I hope all goes well. S is laying by her now and they are both curled up snoozing away..........

I know you will never like me no matter what I say or do, but I don't care any longer.

You don't deserve to go through this with your beagle. I hope he gets better soon and that you will be able to find the problem and get that solved. I know you really love him and would do anything to keep him well.

Sarah, I'm so sorry to hear about your dog. I may have to make that decision sooner than later, too, with Willow. He constantly has accidents and leaks sometimes, too. My husband doesn't have much patience left as he's ruined our carpet pretty much in the whole house. It will eventually need to be replaced, we just can't afford it right now. For now we keep using a steam cleaner. But Willow's already an old dog with Cushings Disease. I was told last year that he'd have maybe a year and a half left. I'm with you, sister!
