Daisy is a young female cat and was spayed 4 days ago. It is Sunday. She has blood in urine/stool. Keeps going back and forth to litter box. Could this be a problem from getting spayed? what to do?? PLEASE RESPOND. HELP. I LOVE HER.
Sorry, buddy.....the ONLY option is to take your "very much loved" cat to the vet to get some antibiotics. There is no home treatment to kill off bacteria. And, untreated this bladder infection can spread to the kidneys and spread throughout the body and cause sepsis. Trust me, it ain't pretty!
I am so sorry for kitty's problems....somehow you need to find some money because this kitty really needs a Vet and antibiotics or he will die a slow painful death!
this is certainly all signs of a UTI and can only be cleared with antibiotics.....AFTER the UTI is cleared you can than go to preventive measures by feeding ONLY canned wet food, do not allow the Vet to talk you into their dry prescription diets!(cans ok, but through them will be expensive and most cats don't like)
Antibiotics are NOT expensive....I would discourage the need for any urine test when money is an issue, antibiotics alone should be enough....and afterwards a change in diet.
My cat seems to get these about once a year. The only thing I know of to clear it up are antibiotics. As far as preventative measures, inexpensive things to do include keeping the litter box very clean (clean at least 2-3 times a week), giving her purified water if your tap water is hard (this is because one thing that can build up stones is excess sodium), and feeding her only canned food, or as often as possible. The vet has special dry food that helps with the problem, but it does cost about twice as much as regular dry food.
I hope your kitty feels better soon!
