NEW POST: UPDATE ON SPLASH:)

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!!!

Well as you know splash was hit by a car, leaving her with a fractured pelvis and damaged nerves around her bladder meaning she couldnt use her bladder or bowels by herself. She started having daily exercises everyday so it seems (She was walking the next day after her accident)
Well woke up this morning... to find she had been to the toilet. It was rather obvious a Number 2, but not sure of a wee.. (She is on lactose) Well, so she went back to the vets for the day and her bladder expressed... well she doesnt need to express any more. SHE CAN GO BY HERSELF. So I am guessing Splash is on the road to recovery. She is having crate rest  for 6 weeks, and well cannot have kittens either, because I dont want her too.. and she cant either cause her pelvis wont be the same again. So about 3 weeks after her 6 week recovery if all is really good and she makes it through, she will be spayed (I am giving her 3 weeks extra so she has more time to heal instead of being in pain for longer... and stuff... the vet also said wait a while after recovery too...)

Her next vet visit is Monday just a check up. And then in 6 weeks needs a repeat xray.

I really would like to thank everyone who has helped me. And gave me the best advice they could!!
You're the best!

xx

Seems like she would like the softness of her bed but maybe she is getting too warm.  Maybe the coldness of the floor feels good to her poor aching bones.

Her brother Chalkie hasnt left her side today, so she has been giving him baths today. Like she would even though she isnt a Mother, she does mother the kittens. She gave them baths too! LOL...
I brought some Dental cat treats?? Chicken Flavour, she doesnt like them, but she likes the Milk Drops. She doesnt like sleeping in her bed?? She is alright on the hard floor of a crate right??

The other cats are winding her up today! Sooo...
She had her meds this morning, she is having her second lot of Lactose now, whilst Wash ( None of my Animals have Normal names) is trying to get at her food!! She is trying everything to get in the cage for her food!! LOL...
She didnt sleep in her bed last night... (I woke up in th middle of the night) She wasnt in there, she was next to it bless her!

By the looks of things she has gone for a wee and a poo today! :)...
Just annoyed my mum wont clean her litter tray because Obv I cant! But Splash is my responsibility which I do understandd.. But I cant clean it!!! ARGH!

But I am taking things day by day... not getting my hopes up though, because in a nice way, you never know what the future can hold!..

I want her to be able to curl up on my bed! :(... but I gotta wait 5 weeks! Her brother (The one who was stuck to me pretty much) now wont come near me!! Because he thinks I hurt his sister! :(

Thank everyone!

I have always believed that animals react to us. Cassie, you have shown me just how true this is. Splash won't forget how kind you were to her in a time of need. I have a feeling that when she is well again you'll be her favorite. I am here checking for updates on Splash often.  Stardust sends her love as well.

She hasnt really eaten much of her dinner today... It has her pain meds in!... So Ima take it away (Out of her bed bed, and put it next to her bed,,, Therefore later she will eat it.)

she has been for 2 wee's again today and a poo (sorry) Which is good... Means the Lactose is working, I am going to give her water now. I have seen her drink but not much! so I am gonna give her some. I dont know whether to give her kitty milk or not for a treat for being sooo good!

She collapsed today though, whilst getting into her tray, her Leg gave way but I gave her fusses and she forgot it happened hahahaha.

Thanks youu. I Hopes I'll be a good mummy!

Also (Nothing to do with splash), the original post about my kitten, well she isnt preg, she just had a blockage, its all coming out now, literally like water... so guess where she is going if it doesnt start to soild up!

I have been tempted to set up my bed next to her. Hahhah

She is sleeping alot, but I guess thats good... She has an apt Monday.

Thank you to everyones! :)

Hi, CJ....I think your loving care is such a huge part in helping her get well. You have a very determined spirit and I think Splashy does too. I think encouraging her to take water through a syringe is a good idea.  You don't want her kidneys to start having problems. She has to stay hydrated. She's lucky to have you CJ...because you are truly there for her. Jade is right. You will make a wonderful mommy. :)

Yesterday whilst having fusses, she  tried to get out 3 times, the others tried to get in with her! So that was fun.

She went for a wee twice by herself since she was home yesterday, but NO poo as of yet.. But the wee is more important.

Her lactose dose is still the same, she loves me because I put it in her food. So meat for her 3 times daily. (I am so happy she isnt like her brother and doesn't eat cat meat....)

She is asleep right now after fusses this morning... She has eaten some of her food with her lactose in it... But i'll make sure she eats all her second dose at 1pm... and then again with her evening meal and her pain meds.

I duno if she has drunk anything, so I am going to try and give her water in a suringe (SP???)

She has a check up Monday!
Thank you to everyoneee. All your prayers are helping her get better.. :)

Im so happy. She eats her dinner with her medication in it... In moderation! Is that okay? Because it has her Lactose in it AND her pain relief. But I think her eating in moderation with the pain relief well... lasts  bit longer.

Her brother Chalkie wont come near me now, (he used to be GLUED to me!! I think he thinks I've hurt his sister)..

She has been for a wee at home for the first time today. And had a little walk around too... she spilt her water, I opened up to clean it up... she tried to escape haha.

She is sleeping now which is good! Looks like she is making a recovery.. :)

I am not going too... The males will be neuterd by then anyways.

As for the lactose, I am scared of hurting her. So with her pain meds.. she will have half a pouch of food with her pain meds in and then an hour later the other half with Lactose in it. I was instructed 3 times a day... but I am going into the vet to see if it has changed my mum forgot to ask.

I am scared of hurting her, so I wont put it in her mouth. Its a low dose.
but is 2ml 3 times daily... But I am going to double check... I have to go into the vets anyways because my hamster needs his regular teeth cut.. as he has NO top ones... which isnt expensive luckily.

But her brother stays by her side always. Also my big cat FC (The original cat) has now gone back to his good old self, since the new additions 5 months ago... he felt like he has been replaced wel he is all soppy again now! :) he doesnt leave splash either. Now she is on crate rest, she might keep her collar on!!

Thank you everyone, I will keep you all updated!

Thank you again :)

Oh Cassie that is wonderful news!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am so happy for little Splash, she is healing and doing so very quickly too, thats great news.
How much lactulose are you giving?....are you giving it by syringe?
Honey make sure you give 2x the amount of water as you are lactulose....for example my Nemo is also on lactulose he gets 1.5cc Lactulose PLUS 3cc'c water with it.(2X per day.)....the lactulose needs water to work efficiently.
but whatever you are doing must be right if her bowels are now working on there own, (((hugs to you both)))............looked at her picture, she is a beautiful kitty...♥Opus

I am so happy for you and Splashy, CJ.   Sounds like she does have a very good chance of recovering.  Just be sure you don't let a male cat near her until the day of her spay.
