Are visual disturbances related to Chiari?

I recently had what they called an "atypical migraine" where I began with having a blind spot at the center of my vision and it kind of got worse, but no headache. Then 2 days later, the same thing with pain behind my eyes and the pain behind my eyes comes and goes and something still seems off several days later, but nothing as bad drastic again. Is this a migraine? Could it be related to/caused by Chiari? I also have EDS and POTS, could either of those trigger this? Going to neurologist tomorrow and want to have an idea of where to begin with questions!

You're seeing a neurologist for your eyes? Or for Chiari?

Medication can do soooooooooo many things to us, especially if you also have EDS.....

Do you have a Chiari specialist?

You will want a neuro optho not a regular eye Dr.....

Is your neuro Dr a neurologist or a neurosurgeon?

Didn't know a neuro optho was different! I'll have to look into that. Although it hasn't happened again yet, so I'm thinking it could have been a medication side effect? And the one I'm seeing now is just a neurologist.

Hi..visual disturbances are very common for those with Chiari, but it is very important that you share this with your Dr and possibly a neuro optho to make sure you do not have any issues with your optic nerve.

I get blind spots as well as floaters and a few other visual issues...I also have depth perception issues now as well as night vision has gotten really bad.

Thanks! I'm feeling discouraged by my neuro doctor (who seemed to know lots about chiari) but then said there is NO possible way that blindspots or visual disturbances can be caused by chiari. I saw an eye doctor who said that my eyes looked healthy. Is there any other sorts of tests besides what is done in the regular eye doctor?
