Thanku do muck for your help. Seeing the Nero Surgeon on Wednesday, most of the stuff, I haven't asked the Dr, or they haven't asked me.
No, my feet don't go bright red, my bp usually low, I get dizzy with headaches when I sit up. A Dr did tell me about the BP, but didn't do any more testing, I think cause I didn't asked, they might of thought I wasn't worried. Who Knows......
My sinus, so over reacted today. I honestly don't know if it the avm or a possible chairi, my last few hamerorrages leaked into the space, I seem to get bleeds when combines with my hormonal balance. Don't know...
Karen...what is ur BP like?...could u have POTS?...DO u have pooling of blood in ur lower extremities?Do ur feet get bright red?
U said u get HA's when u sit up...how did ur Dr explain that?.....
Did they give u a tilt table test?

The symptoms I have is ringing in the ears, heart plalpitations, dizziness, headatches when sitting up, skin rashes around the neck, I was told comflicting stories by my dr, he told me I had arthritis in the next, then he's told me I had muscle spasms. He told me he wanted to put me on the drug Endep, my sister, has been on this drug, and her side effects was electric shock pains to her arms and legs, then she was told she had ms, but then that diagnoses was changed to Rhemertoid Arthritis in all of her spine. Getting back to me, I also has electrical shock pain in my brain last year, but did not go to the hospital, but was told by my dr it could of been a possibly tia. I have had a recent mri done yesterday, an the radiologist did suggest unofficially, I didn't have a Chari, but to speack to my Neuro surgeon, which I'll be seeing him next Wednesday. Also, I do have hydrocephalus, and have a vp shunt in the 4th Ventricle on the lesft side of brain.
Thankyou, for your opinion, and yes I will organize a copy of the MRI.
Karen
Hi and welcome to the Chiari forum.
A AVM or arteriovenous malformation is an abnormal collection of veins and arteries on the right side of the brain....this is usually a congenital condition much like chiari can be,...sometimes chiari can also be acquired, but, to ur question....
Just from what I understand and I am not a Dr or medical person...but a chiari malformation is the malformation of the cerebellum -part of the skull...which causes the cerebellum part of the brain to be forced out onto the brain stem and spinal cord as the space is too small to contain it all. Since this happens at the foreman magnum I do not see how a brace at night or the AVM would detract from it on a MRI.
Have u had the MRI?...DO u have a copy of the MRI and the report ? If the MRI has not been done yet, be sure to request copies of the study and the report for ur own personal use to get opinions....
Many times a chiari malformation will show up, but it may not be reported on the report or to the patient as many Drs feel the findings r incidental.
May we ask what symptoms u present with that u ask>?
