It was such a let down...u think finally they r going to cover a condition related to chiari and get some awareness out there...

I also wondered what pain meds that patient was still on....

They deff glossed over it, never mentioned how it can elongate the brain stem or cause the cerebral tonsils to herniate....or that it is related to chiari....

I was very disturbed by what was left out....

I just went to the shows site and clicked on the video, as I do not get that channel. They had a man on there recovering from a "micro surgery" done last week for his TC. Then they had the OB Dr describe how the TC and spinal bifidia develop in utero. They used a skeleton and a balloon with a rubberband to describe how the spinal tube normaly ends at one point, but the TC showed the brain pushing the tube further down and how they use "micor scissors" to "simply snip the cord". They made it sound so easy and like no big deal....not sure what is really involved with TC, but in MHO they glossed over it.

They didnt describe it well nor any related conditions. I wanted to jump thru the screen and teach them about how it can also pull downward on the cerebellum causing it to herniate. Ugh i wass not impressed. Some drs reaally have not a clue.
Hey my mom sent an email to dr oz. Telling him about my story with chiari. And wondered why hes never talked about it on his show and if he even knows what it is?! How thoughtful is she. It surprised me. I told her dont wait for any response, that ive already tried emailing him, lol
