I too have a syrinx at C 7.  I also have major spine problems in the Lumbr area. It makes me so mad when the drs. say that the syrinx does not hurt all the time or does not cause all this pain.  I want to slap them.  I hurt continuely.  My arms and hands are giving me fits.  I have had several visual disturbances with double vision and blurred vision.  I have not found a dr. that has even had a patient with syringomyelia.  So what do they know?  The drs. eyes seem to glaze over when you mention syringomyelia.  I am at my wits end.  I  live in SC.  Does anyone know a good dr. in SC, Ga.. NC, or FLA.  I am not crazy.  My MrI has also noted tethered spinal cord.

Hi...no worries...well to research a dr, call the office and ask the staff about chiari, if they ask how to spell it, most likely his office does not deal with it that often...but u will want to ask for  references as well as meet with the drs...

Once u get well informed, it helps u figure out which drs r the right ones....

U can look the drs up on line and get info on them there as well...but, calling the office is usually best, and u can ask for info here if a member has been to a dr I am sure they will be willing to share their experience.

Thank you for becoming my friend.  I read all of your surgery posts.  You have been thru so much.  This is a silly question but how do I research a doctor?

Hi and welcome to the Chiari/Syringomyelia/TC forum.

I elongated the community title as we do cover it all, and it sounds like u just might have it all.....

Those that have TC tend to have chiari if only by default,,,as the TC pulls down on the cord and brain stem it pulls down the tonsils of the cerebellum.

We have a list of chiari drs that members have compiled....u do have to research the drs to be sure they r the right dr for u.....http://www.medhelp.org/posts/Chiari-Malformation/LIST-OF-CHIARI-SPECIALISTS/show/1293483

There is a Dr Rosner in NC, I do not think he is on the list yet, but u may want to check him out.

Glad to have u join us, but not happy for the reasons that brought u.
