I have not been diagnosed with EDS yet. He only did the xrays.
DX stands for diagnosis. EDS stands for Ehler's-Danlos Syndrome, which is a connective tissue disorder in which a protein in your connective tissue is faulty. This makes our joints and ligaments more stretchy and unstable which can lead to craniocervical instability, along with removing part of the vertebrae like Selma mentioned. Many people go to The Chiari Institute in New York, I have not heard of opinions on Duke, so hopefully someone else will be able to jump in with that. Good luck with everything!
I'm not sure what an DX or EDS is. However, my PCP is trying to get me into duke. Where does those doctors that u recommended.
Thank you,
Hi....yes this can happen post op...but I am sure u may have had some instability pre op as well but having part of C1 and C2 shaved off can make it that much more unstable....
Have u gotten a DX of EDS?
Have u had other post op issues?
IMHO I would get another opinion.
