Looking for support

I was reading all the post and just joined. I am 47 and have tonsil ectopia of 11mm and a arachnois cyst in the left postier fossa that is 5.2 cm. I have had 10-12 years of Dr's telling me it's vistibular problems and going to ENT's and they cant fing anything and send me to Neuro's who all tell me that my cyst and tonsil ectopia are incidental findings. I started with dizzyness  (1998) and having to hold on to people or things to steady myself, The feeling of getting ready to pass out only last 1-5 seconds. I have nystigma and headaches. Further symptoms to add are choaking for no reason, and feeling like I am going to pass out if I laugh real hard. My vision is getting bad and I see floaters. I have developed hypertension, sleep apnea, hyper somnia, depression and anxiety. I often search for words when talking and lose my train of thought. My energy is nill. I have recently had joint pain all over. I went to my chiropractor for severe neck pain on the left side and pain shooting down to my left shoulder. He has done adjustments but to no avail which is unusual for past neck tension. My left shoulder sometimes burns and than feels numb. I suffer from frequent headaches. I sometimes feel like I am walking of clouds and totally disassociated with myself.
I feel this is syptomatic of Chiari and would like to know if this fits the criteria?

Welcome to our forum.. You will get alot of good information here..  As selmaS said your symptoms sound like the same things we have. Take the advise of those on this forum and go see a specialist that deals with chiari. Most neurologists don't know enough to give you good advise. You said you went to a chiropractor... There has been documented accounts of chiari patients getting worse by being adjusted by chiropractors. I haven't been back since I heard this... Give selmas your info and she will hook you up with the name of a specialist in your area. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask her or shane99 they have helped me alot..

Hi and Welcome.

Incidental findings is a normal responce from radiologists and drs that r not chiari specialists.

If u need help find a specialist...we can give u some names to research. Let us know where u live. Also be prepared to travel to see a dr....

I am so sorry u had the need to join us, but glad u did indeed find us...this is a great place for support and info.

To answer ur question...I would say yes!!...u described how I feel most of the time.

Godspeed
