MRI RESULTS

I am reading my MRI results of my brain. It shows I have low-lying cerebellar tonsils. It also says I have mild cerebellar ectopia. It also says I have a flow void at the circle of Willis. Is anyone familiar with these things? What is it? Is this associated with the Chiari Malformation?

Oh ok...bcuz chiari is the malformation of the skull...but u can have the tonsils forced out by other issues like hydrocehpalous , a MVA just the force of the accident can do it....so even if there is room for the tonsils they can herniate, but chiari there is not enuff room.

So since they said borderline they r using the size of the herniation and not how it is affecting u or ur health...which irritates me....5mm is an old standard of measurement and an outdated view for making a determination as to what chiari is.

Ok...thank you for explaining it. The MRI does mention borderline Chiari Malformation, I forgot to mention that.

The Circle of Willis is a vital formation of arteries at the base of the brain which supplies all thought processes with the necessary fuel.

Low lying cerebral tonsils is another way of saying the tonsils are herniated...it does not say chiari...and u can get low lying tonsils from a few  other issues and not just from chiari....so, u have to find out.

A flow void is referring to ur CSF which indicates a CSF blockage...which can cause a syrinx to form.....

U need a chiari specialist.
