Neurosurgeon questions.

I'm looking for a list of questions to ask a neurosurgeon. Obviously my brain isn't working well or I would have made a list. (Haha) I'm just wondering if there are some questions that I should be asking. Thanks in advance.

  Hi our list is temporarily unavailable.....but here are some that are on the list....

It is hard to know what to ask since he has not told you what he feels is going on and his course of action....so, some questions  may not apply.

Why they feel surgery would or wouldn't benefit you, and is that for now or future as well.
What will be done during surgery....laminectomy, dura plasty etc....what type of patch....

Will ALL related conditions be ruled out.

How does your Dr handle your hair....if you color it, when should be the last coloring and when can you resume afterward.

How large an incision., how long  a stay.....

How many surgeries does your Dr do ...

Can you have a way to contact the Dr will other questions once this all sinks in...( some use  e-mail)

What are the policies at the hospital and what arrangements can be made for your family who will need to be near you is from out of town.
