Oh Just saw this sorry..I cant wait to see one tho my insurance isnt good
Chiari symptoms cycle...so u can have times when u feel good and others when u feel awful.....
And unless the NS is a true chiari specialist u will get no where with them......once u finally get the right dr u will see the diff.

how can i have such numbness and pain n my neck n hurts too swallow but the NS says " looks pretty normal" from the last time...ugh
Its difficult yeah, and in a way id rather have chiari than some of the other possibilities..
some of my doctors look at me crazy when I ask about a certian thing like they know ive looked it up but I cant help it that i have not been dx'd and feel so bad..and its geting worse, but what is a big clue...
is that for a couple months i was feeling a bit better and had less pain so im not sure if any conditions can lessen or if it was a leak it would just keep hurting
That is because they all have to do with CSF flow, and pressue in the head/spinal cord. That is why Chiari and things like you have listed are so hard to diagnose, because it is hard to rule out all of that other stuff. Also, Chiari and increase icp and stuff like that tend to go hand in hand from what I have read.
Havent found clear answers of the diff symptoms/differences of csf leak -low pressure, increased icp, or chiari...because they have some similar
well, I went to drs as a child and did not get dx'd until age 48!!...of course I also had a change in my symptoms...I began with drop attacks...so that changed things and I had had enuff of the run around and demanded that they find out the reasons for the drops.

Yeah, its strange things so when I tell my family..they think im crazy. I dont tell drs everythin either. but one more question...sorry, how long can people go undx'd? Like if i had it forever I never had as bad symptoms till last year.
I had my voice completely leave me while singing....I never said nething to my Dr, as I was not sure what it was...or y it happened...I would start out singing and slowly my voice cracked until there was nothing left....I just thought it was from the PND.....
I now recall maybe 3 years ago,. I had issues with sining loud, sounds dumb but made my head hurt and always with coughing but i never thot anytghing of it.
Generally type 2 is seen at birth, so it is doubtful it could change from one to two....but it could have been mis-dx'd......
Yes, a chiari herniation could be seen in a cervical MRI.......
Yea, I will do that...lately though my neck even my throat has been burnin and tingling and hurting...With chiari can it change to type 2? IF the brain sag was so bad would it also show onto the cervical mri? because it showed some of it but im not sure if its enough to dx. Its been a year since my on set of symptoms althoiugh while pregnant i had way less issues for a couple months.
Regardless of which is the issue, I hope u get answers soon.
U may want to ask when u go for the brain MRI if u can get copies of the report so u can get a 2nd opinion...it is worth a try : )
"selma"
i have the actual mri films...only got to talk to him on the phone about my cervical mri...he said that he sees nothing too significant from last year regarding my nek :(
Still suppose to get an mri of my brain today but I was hoping my neck was the issue.
Do u have a copy of the report as well?
I have no doubt that u may have some changes from a previous MRI...but, Sag doesn't indicate the issue u r having just the type or slice of the pic the MRI is....
The head pain when u laugh , cough or strain is a typical chiari pain.....I know it all too well...try to relax....and wait to see what the NS has to say.

OKAY i freaked out...still when I look at the old MRI and the new MRI it does look different.
maybe I looked into it a little too much on the internet but I amvery concerned..my head hurts when I laugh or cough...will be calling my dr - neuro. tomorrow lol to atleast look over the cervical mri
Hi...No...it is an abbreviation for the word Sagittal-Sagittal plane is a vertical plane which passes from front to rear dividing the body into right and left sections.
The terms median plane or mid-sagittal plane are sometimes used to describe the sagittal plane running through the midline. This plane cuts the body into halves (assuming bilateral symmetry),[1] passing through midline structures such as the navel and spine. It is one of the lines defining the right upper quadrant of the human abdomen......
Hope this helps : )
