I sleep sideways, I find it a lot more comfortable and less painful. I have an orthopaedic pillow and then as Selma says, I sleep with an assortment of extras: One between my knees, a body pillow alongside my front as I tend to try and roll onto my front when I'm asleep and then I also sleep with a pillow sort of half on top of me and half on top of the body pillow and under my arm that I seem to cling to, again I think this is just to keep me in a comfortable position all night.
I have considered purchasing certain pregnancy pillows before :) as some of them seem to do what I try and do with several pillows in one easy pillow.
thanks, this is helpful.!
Hi, actually I was told by my Dr to sleep on my side....but to put either a body pillow or a rolled blanket behind my back to keep me from rolling, this is great post op and in the hospital...but I find it best for me overall....it is not hard on the neck with the right pillows.....we should also have a small pillow btwn the knees.

I still sleep on my side, when my neck is not killing me. What I would say is make sure you have some Tylenol or other pain reliever of your choice in the house, and just try sleeping different ways and see if it hurts or if it is something you can do. That would really be the only way to see what works for you.
