Do u mean how long did I have my dx?...it was a little more then a yr until I went from dx to surgery. I had chiari my whole life, symptoms included...they did get worse as I got older...and I started having drop attacks, one resulted in injuries that required surgery, so I pushed for answers.....
Chiari is congenital, meaning we had it since birth, many have had symptoms on and off for yrs as the symptoms cycle, and attributed them to other things going on in their life...over doing it, the flu, etc,.....

Another question is how long have you had cm before u got your surgery
@selma thanks and I will check into that and see what going on with that
My heart goes out to you not having insurance. I can't inmagine not having ins. and having Chairi. I know it has cost us a lot of money going through this. Just want to let you know I pray your find the right direction and get some help with insurance. Best of luck
Hi....it is possible u had symptoms that were not that severe or u just associated them to something else, but the assault triggered ur symptoms to flare, just a a fall or MVA could.
I went 6 months with no ins. then went to PICP.gov and got ins under that...it covers ne pre existing conditions....
something to check into, but b4 u do, see if u need surgery and how u will be covered with the ins u have now.....
U can apply for SSID but it can take up to 2 yrs to win a case...and I had my surgery at 49 just a few months b4 I turned 50....
