Update

Haven't been on here for a while but was wondering if this is common after surgery. I had decompression in September of 2013. Recently I've had these constant headaches that feel like someone is pushing needles into my head. Also I've been having pain in my arms and legs and spasms throughout my body. Could this be related to Chiari? I'm getting another MRI in May but so far my surgeon think I'm just making up my symptoms or over exaggerating.

  Hi and welcome back....

Didn't you have the MRI this past Jan? If so, what were those results?

It may not be Chiari directly, but may be a related condition...did you have ALL of them ruled out b4 your surgery?

Many related conditions can worsen after surgery.....but most changes worsen in the first 6 month ...but some do come on more slowly.....

Do look into a Chiari specialist to evaluate what is going on if your current Dr is not able to give you answers.

I did have an MRI in Jan. It didn't say much. All my NS said was that the CSF flow was better than it was before surgery. He didn't really look into related conditions much. I have a cervicothoracic syrinx and tethered spinal cord.
