8 year old stealing and lying

by lilhappy1, Nov 03, 2008 10:43PM
I am at the end of my rope with my 8 year old daughters stealing and lying!!!  She has taken my husbands Ipod, my nephews Ipod, stolen from school and it is not stopping or slowing down at all!!  This has been going on for over 2 months and I am aboout to lose my MIND!!  She will not do anything that we ask her to do, and is now a problem at school too.  She has a N is conduct every week now and for the past 2 weeks had a little note to me that she is being disruptive in class and still not getting her work done!!  Today I even got a note that she wrote a disrespectful comment on an assignment!  I have to go to talk to her teacher tomorrow morning to find out what that was about because I can't get the truth out of her!!!  We have tried everything to get her to act better! She has been grounded for 2 months now because everytime she is almost out of trouble she steals again!!  I dont know what else to do with her to get the message across!  I am trying to get her in for an ADD evaluation to help her to get her school work done but I know that wont help with the stealing and lying part.  Is anyone else having a similar problem or have had one?  I would greatly appreciate ANY advice!!  Thanks!

I was looking at other people who have made posts similar to mine...I noticed you posted in Nov. 08 and have no comments under it.  First, I'd like to say, I hope that things have gotten better for you, My 6 year old granddaughter is doing the same thing...the situation at home is such that I don't hold out much hope for any help on that end, I guess based on the lack of response your post has received from the experts, help won't be coming from them either.  I hope everything works out for your daughter and I wish that I could offer you some advice, but I have none.
