how can i get my three year old to pay attention r does he have a disorder?
my three year old is constantly hitting his brother taking things away from him and doing things that he knows not to do. we r trying to work with him with his alabhet and numbers but all he wants to do is cry and yell. and he bangs on the walls and kicks and punches things ive tryed spanking him i tryed putting him in time out and i tryed putting him to bed nothin works desperatly seeking help. and he wont stay home we had another son a year and a half ago and in the last 6 mths he wants to stay with my mom everyday. how do i break him from that. with out deprieving my parents r him seeing his grandparents i feel like a useless mother with him i dont feel like he is my son anymore. please help me.

I don't really have a story to relate to this, but it sounds like he's crying for attention....and jealous too. I have a daughter that is almost six and another daughter that is just over a year...and believe me my older daughter's personality changed in a lot of good ways and bad ways...her cry for attention became extreem to where she was doing everything in her power to make me angry, because she wants attention....negative or positive she wanted it. She never hit or hurt her little sister at all intentionally anyways so I can't relate to that.....I just really think your oldest needs a little more attention.....do you do a lot with the both of them at the same time...like read books? Play games, like pass the ball.......I noticed that the more I played with the two of them together the less attention my older daughter would negatively cry out for......as for him wanting his grandmother all the time that's most likely because she gives him the attention he craves......I'm not saying you don't give him attention but I do know how hard it is to give a child positive attention when they act out constantly and make you want to rip your hair out...It's the beauty of parenting! We learn patience, and they learn life!
