handling 3 year old classroom behaviour problems

I am a kindergarten teacher in an ordinary school with montessori background for 40 children in a class. I have a child Rohan [3 1/2 years old] who cannot sit in a place for more than 10 seconds.  He takes out his shoes lace at least 10 times in 3 hours. He runs around the class when other children are eating and takes their food and puts it in his mouth or pocket. I make him sit on a table which is about 4 feet above the ground. He will take out his shoes and tries to throw on others. He also has this habit of poking other children's eyes. and so on his tales are endless. BUT he can recognise colours, say whatever I teach [of average intelligence] , knows whatever he does is completely wrong and compensates by giving me flying kisses and saying sorry. Is isolating him a solution?  What do I do? HELP!!!!!!!!

He sounds like a boy who may be showing signs of hyperactivity. This behavior may not be entirely volitional. Do you have a school psychologist or behavioral consultant? Does he need a different kind of class setting? He might need an evaluation. You have an obligation to him, but also a responsibility to the safety and well-being of the other children in your class. Your time with his behavior problems may reach a point of interfering with what you can provide to other children in the classroom. How do his parents react to your description of his behavior? Does he behave this way at home? As an aside, I would caution you against posting the name of the child since you are operating in a professional capacity and need to preserve his privacy.
