pnumonia

My three year old has been admitted 3 times in the past 2 years for Asthma with pnumonia, I have been told that this is just something that can happen with Asthma.  Her Asthma has only been triggered by colds so far.  Are there other thing that she should be checked for, why does it keep turning into pnumonia.
It starts like a cold with a runny nose and within hours it can turn.  Thanks

I have just found out that I have walking pnumonia. I am asthmatic and I have caught this problem twice in one year. I need to know, what are the other ways of getting this sickness to be able to avoid them, also I have a child who also has asthma and I need to know will he be having the same problem later on. Pleas If you are a doctor get back to me. My Email address is ***@****. Thank you for any information that you can give me.     Sincerly Bill

Dear Karen,

Your question is very sensible - you want to understand the pattern that has developed with your daughter. However, this Forum is really not intended to address physical illness - it's focus is on child behavior.

Please ask your daughter's pediatrician to describe the connection between the asthma and pneumonia.
