Melatonin 1ml

My 5 yr old daughter has problems falling to sleep, the doctor has given me liquid melatonin 1mg strength an told me to give her one dropper which is 1ml.  I have to admit it really does make her fall to sleep an she seems to be rested the next morning...  My questions are is this safe for her??  Can it cause bad side effects??  Complications??  I just don't want to do something that is going to hurt her or be habit forming!!  Thanks for any advice/experience that u can give!!

I would personally feel comfortable if my Dr. recommended it.  If in doubt, there is never anything wrong with getting a second opinion.

I'm deffinately a big supporter of natural remedys, & honestly that is such a small amount that it should be no problem. However, if you are worried about her building a tolerance then you can give her sleepytime tea with honey before bed once a week & that should help her sleep too. Hope everything goes well with your little one.
