Dr. Adam,
About 12 or so (may be more by now I stopped counting) years ago I was in a car accident. We were traveling in a car in below zero conditions in Minnesota and slid came to a stop light at an intersection and began to stop. Instead of stopping, because of black ice conditions (being from Missouri you may not know what that is, but in Minnesota it gets cold enough to cause car emissions to freeze onto the pavement causing icy conditions) we slid. Luckily the driver (my father) was not going very fast and though we slid, he was able to get the car under control. However, the 4x4 Truck behind us was not so lucky. We were rear ended by this 4x4 which was going about 40 miles an hour. Since my feet didn't even touch the floor of the car, I couldn't properly brace myself and was severly injured.
The injuries that I suffered from this accident include severe whiplash as my head flexed both back and forward, fibromyalgia, Restless Leg Syndrome, and so many other subluxations and other injuries I cannot remember all of them. I've had severe adult onset Otitis Media and Labrynthritis, which I believe is a result of the whiplash. Add to this that I am well endowed in the chest area and have been since I was a girl, which only exacerbates the entire problem, as well as the fact that since I'm in so much pain, that when I feel good I don't want to do anything for fear of rocking the boat, so to speak, so I've put on probably 40 or 50 pounds because I'm afraid to do anything - because I suffer so much when I try.
The pain, though some don't believe, is very real. I haven't slept a whole night through for over 10 years! I've spent several thousand dollars trying to get my pain levels to even livable amounts, but as of now my condition is considered pre-existing, so I can't even get insurance to cover it anymore.
I live in Missouri and I heard about Upper Cervical Care and saw your website and was wondering if Upper Cervical might help me.
