lower back pain

i recently started having SEVERE lowere back pain mainly when i'm standing.i am currently cooking in in a school. so i stand pretty much in one spot with limited movement. the pain is so severe it had me in tears( i can handle pain)
this pain is at least 4x worst than my back labor with 2 of my children and no apin meds. the pain eases when i sit after about 10 min or so but comes back once i start standing again. i am fine when i lay down i'm ok when i get up in the morning . it is in my lower back starts out as a dull uncomfortable almost muscle achy the longer it hurts the worsr it get goes into to sharp stabbing pains that go from back to front. when the severe pain stops and i'm sitting there is still discomfort very similar to mild contractions to a strong mentrual pain any suggestion on what this is? the ct scan i had done showed nothing. the pain is very real and the vicodin the er gave me along with a heat wrap does not ease the pain at all.

Have you mentioned this to your primary care physician? Are you certain it was a CT scan and not an MRI?

Sounds very painful.  You should take more breaks to sit down.
