by Bud89, Oct 27, 2009 03:42PM
Help!! Me and my partner both done home test for Chlamydia! Mine came back today and they said it was postive! my partner hasn't heard anything!!
We have been together for two years and had a child together! We both have had test's before and everytime showed up negative! I know i haven't cheated and he swears that he hasn't either so can Chlamydia lay dormant in the body????

I'm sorry to tell you, but no, it doesn't lay dormant. It can be present without symptoms in about 50% of infected men.  But as long as it is, it can be passed from partner to partner.

Either one of you had a false result or he isn't telling you the truth about his fidelity.

So does this mean that if 50% of men dont show any symptoms that they could still be carriers?
If this be the cse, then would they show up on tests as being Positive OR NEgative.

No one is a carrier.  It's not a virus.  It is a bacteria that is present in the body. And as long as it is with or without present symptoms, the test would show positive after a week since infected.
