Welcome and thanks for your question. Based on your test results, it would not appear that you have suffered much damage from your cholesterol levels. I would be helpful to know what you actual breakdown is, you state your HDL is 71, assuming because your LDL is 140 and total is 211, but that's not the correct formula. The correct formula is LDL + HDL + 20% of your TGLs (or VDL) equals total cholesterol so see if you can get the actual numbers.
What you need to do is keep up the good work on the smoking, congrats to that. Keep you diabetes under control and eat a heart healthy diet and get some exercise, both of which should be outlined by your doctor.
