According to the American Heart Association, fish oil contributes to an increase between five to 10 percent of LDL cholesterol.
The value of taking fish oil is, from what I've learned and told by my Cardiologist is that raises the HDL, or good cholesterol level, and lower the trigs. Lowering the trigs and raising the HDL is very heart healthy.
Fish oil is a dietary wonder. It appears to lower the chances not only of developing breast cancer and autoimmune disease but of having heart attacks. It’s one of the few substances known to lower concentrations of triglycerides, or fatty substances that pose a cardiovascular risk, in the blood.
