I had a CT Scan for a Calcium Score as I have high cholesterol, however the CT scan came back with the following. I do suffer a little from diziness, especially on standing.
CT Scan.
Findings: Unenhanced scan of the chest was performed. There is a 2.5mm non-classified right lower lobe nodule on image 33, 2.3 mm pleural-based left lower lobe nodule on image 30, 3.2mm ground glass left upper lobe nodule on image 21. There is adenopathy in the mediastinum and probably right hilum. Enlarged nodes are seen in pretracheal, paratracheal, AP window, precarinal regions.A right parcardiac node measures 1.3 cm and has a central nidus of calcium seen on image 31. The largest mediastinal nodes measure 15 mm in diameter and I beleive there is a right hilar node measuring 17mm. There are no effusions.
Impression: There are few scattered noncalcified pulmonary nodules biliaterally, the largest measuring 3.2mm. Mediastina and right hilar adenopathy. Follow up scan later date recommended in part due to the adenopathy and because the 3.2 mm left upper lobe nodule has a groundglass density. One of the mediastinal nodes have central calcification which could indicate old granulomatous disease.
Any advice please on whether to consult an expert. My cardiologist ordered the CT for choleserol.
