I work in a busy kitchen and I have stage 2 COPD and a 66% lung capacity.  I take 500 MDI of Advair twice a day and spiriva.  I still smoke a little a day. I also have to work in a hot humid kitchen in the summer.  I started having panic attacks when I would get busy and I would get winded easily and fustrated.  I am off work presently but I want to go back soon.  Anyone in a similar situation and if so, any suggestions.

The panic attack is probably a side effect of Advair. Steroids can affect the adrenal glands. High cortisol (secreted by the gland) causes anxiety and panic attacks. I had to quit Adviar for this reason. It has taken me a year to recover.
