Hi sarah, I was diagnosed with copd 8 yrs ago and i smoked up until 2 wks ago and i feel better now for giving up. Lifespan depends on each person on how you look after yourself. Have you asked your Lung Consultant how long you can live with this. I found it really hard dealing with this when i was diagnosed and how restrictive i felt, but i got it in to my routine as opposed to living in the copd's routine. ask your doctor or consultant to refer you to a copd clinic meeting where you meet people in the same boat and pick up tips and help from others that have it. let me know how you get on. what do you take to help you with your copd. keep in touch take care stel
