Unexplained symptoms

Hi,
Here I posted a question:
http://www.medhelp.org/posts/show/522641
I hoped a medical expert might have stepped in to say something, but nothing so far.

After four stars, I'll post my first message here to ask if my simptoms might be Colitis, as suggested in another post by one member.  I don't think it is Colitis, nor do I think the syptoms sound like Colitis, but who am I to judge?  If you feel it could be something else, feel free to speculate.  Could it even be Proctitis?

I wondered if someone can tell me what to expect [what might be wrong with me?].  I am 31 m, overweight and fairly inactive.  Take 100 mg Atenonol and I think 25 mg Simvastatin, for high blood pressure and high cholesterol:

DAY 1 --  blood on stool [bright red in large areas]
DAY 2 -- constipated, blood on stool.
DAY 3 -- constipated blood on stool.
DAY 4 --  not really constipated... blood and maybe mucous or pus on stool.

Thank you, that's a great help.  I haven't really had any pain when passing a stool before, however, of late, I have felt a slight pain from my right kidney area when passing a stool, coughing or sneezing.  The urge to 'go' and having nothing happen does keep me awake at night.  Is their anything that can help me with the later?  I am usually very tolerant, but it is getting me down somewhat.

Thank you again.

Hi Andy31,
Your symptoms are more suggestive of colitis. Blood and mucus/pus point towards it.

Though the feeling of incomplete evacuation is a feature of proctitis, it would be  painful during evacuation. You have not mentioned about pain during evaculation.

A sigmoidscopy/colonoscopy is useful  in finding out whether it is colitis or proctitis or .
both.

DAY 5 --  diarrhea, unknown if blood on stool, but did show undigested foods..
DAY 6 --  no movements, though often I feel like I need to pass a stool, but I don't.
DAY 7 --  I had some right hip pain that spread to my back and front when I coughed.
My back is still sore, the pain can be on either side, either  lower back or slightly higher up.  Sometimes the pain can be like a dull ball, or it can be like a nerve [which is really sore] or it can be in the middle of my lower back.  I did notice the pain can go down the middle of the back of my leg [or I think, sometimes down one side], depending on how I sleep, or other times, it can be on either side of my bum.  Zapain often helps.  I take it if I have to go to work.  I have used approximately 60 Zapain tablets in just under 4 weeks, only 2 of which were yesterday, the only ones this week.
All week, I've had a painful pinkie finger and the finger next to it, I believe it feels rheumatic-like.  It hurts more when I close my fingers... often it feels like I am recovering after having my fingers whacked on the top, across the knuckles by a Steele rod.
