Alternative Therapies/Complementary Medicine

What is the difference between alternative therapies (alternative medicine?) and complementary medicine?

Good question!  We don't know why they created the other forum, if that's the question.  The theory was it had something to do with a certain person who got chased from another forum with the promise of a new forum, but MH says it isn't true.  This forum is older, so it has more archives, but the alternative med forum is newer and gets more attention.  It's politics, I think, and so we have two forums for the same purpose.  I guess technically alternative medicine is anything that isn't allopathic medicine, which is misleading since allopathic medicine is the new kid on the block -- so-called alternative medicine has been around as long as people have.  Complementary medicine technically means using integrated medicine, which combines allopathic and alternative medicine into just one thing called medicine, which is how it should be, I think.  That's the best I can do.

hey I like the Alternative therap,many times there is no input here  apart from you guys and remember when deep diver got dumped off here .I think you'll find theres a reason folks asked for that one .....

As far as I know nobody asked for that one, but MH says they had been thinking of it for awhile.  When I informed them we already had this forum, it was weird, they didn't seem aware of it.  I don't really care that much, I just worry some people don't get enough responses now if they post here, but it is what it is.  As I've come to learn and accept, MH had the initiative to start this, I didn't.  But those in the know who were leaders on the forum this particular person got chased off of still believe the forum was created to give him somewhere else to go.  As for me, who knows?  I'm as outside as they come, on here and in life!  And Margy, you do know Deep Diver has never really left us, don't you?  He's the man of a thousand faces.  Or names.

Whatever the reason the alternative therapy forum is a good one , you and Gym and MH have made it a good forum..yup always with us in spirit.Pax .
