Arrhytmogenic right ventricular dysplasia

my daughter was recently diagnosed with arrythmogenic right ventricular dysplasia, she has palpitations and the doctor said that she will need an icd,she also developed heart faluire, doctor said a heart transplant is rarely performed in arvd.
i dont understand why that, if arvd its a cardiomiophaty as all cardiomiophaties due to the progression of the disease the patients will need a heart transplant.
why heart transplant is rarely performed in arvd??

A transplant requires several variables to be true before one will be performed.

If any of  the variables do not meet the requirements, then a transplant is not allowed.  For instance, I have stage 4 heart failure, and stage 5 kidney failure, and I need a transplant for both organs.  However, because I also need a heart, I will not be allowed a kidney, and because I also need a kidney, I will not be allowed a heart.  One without the other would be a waste, as the new transplant would need the other in order for a successful outcome.

I hope this helps you to understand........

Don't lose hope, though. I have a ICD and I receive dialysis 6 days a week and I get along fine.
