Hi,
The kind of description you have given, there’s a possibility of a coronary spasm causing all the problem. This can give rise to the sudden spasmodic chest pain which goes away gradually. The doctor has rightly prescribed you a low dose antihypertensive as that is thought to play a role in improving the blood supply in the smaller vessels of the heart. Thus, enalapril/ramipril have cardioprotective properties and thus are useful. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
I'm not a doctor, but from what I understand through my reading, troponin can be high with a heart attack. Many other conditions can cause high troponin as well--
kidney failure, heart failure (acute or severe), pulmonary embolism, conditions like pericarditis and myocarditis, and sepsis and/or shock. There are also times when you can have a false-positive troponin elevation.
Hi Margrie, I also suspected have an heart attack. Angiogram showed no blockage. All my arteries open widely. After the event, my left side of the heart dosen't beat as it should be. Another word, severe hypokenises reported in my echo.
I also have many episodes of mild chest pain, chest tightness and SOB. Many many times near faint (may be is light headed). I live with dizziness everyday. All doctor said my heart is OK, nothing wrong. I'm not on any medication. Take care.
Hi Yvette, Would mild heart attack cause the Troponin I elevated?
From what I understand, some heart attacks are considered mild. Since you've been having more of these episodes lately, it would be best to see a doctor to figure out what's causing them and hopefully, what can be done to get rid of the symptoms.
Sometimes, if you call your doctor's office, tell them what's going on/the symptoms you're having, and explain that finances are a problem, they'll work with you or maybe suggest somewhere else to go where you can get care. Good luck and please keep us posted as to what you find out.
