Bright red rectal bleeding along with abdominal pain

For over a year now, I have had bright red rectal bleeding and just over 5 months ago did the abdominal pain start. I have been to my family doctor about the situation and all she did was give me a rectal examine and give me stool softners. It didn't help. My stool is soft but the pain and the bloood is still there. What does this mean? What do I need to do?

Go to a gastro specialist & have them do a colonoscopy & when they say they dont have any answeres if the test dont show anything.....Fight for every test out there....I have been going through stomach pain & always in the bathroom & have had many of tests done...so please see a gastro....But dont let a doctor ever not be able to find the problem & just assume they are right....They are wrong more than right....Good Luck & hang in there!!!!!

Hi, you should go back to see your doc so she can, or should identify the source of the pain and blood.Theres test that can be done and if she dosent help you then you should see another doctor.
