LGD Diagnosis in UC

I have long standing ulcertiva colitis - 23 years. The disease has been manageable on probiotics for a few years now.
I have annual colonoscopy and last one indicated low grade dysplasia in one area (unifocal) Biopsies were over 50 and the GUI guy said my colon is easy to see with little pseudo ployps or ulceration. I am considering colectomy because of the cancer fear. Has anybody been in this situation and what was the outcome. Is it likely there is other more agressive lesions present? Any advice is welcome
