Prednisolone for chrons

Hi Guys,

I am newly DX with chrons two weeks ago and have been placed onto Prednisolone 50 mg a day. I was wondering how these drugs worked for other people? Other than the fact that they hav brought my D under control, I am still having really bad stomach pains. How quick did you guys get results with these drugs? Was it long term effects bad on you?

I was told that they should work straight away, but no such luck! Since starting them, I have had  UTI AND A KIDNEY INFECTION. lET THE GAMES BEGIN!

Can,t you get enticort? It's alot safer for you. well t's alot of money ,if you don't have med. insurance. My doctors tell me it's only good for quick fix .not maintenance. Yes It works good, Thats not to say you'll never get reallysick! then you get liquid diet for 12 days or so. sorry your sick!

hi there im on prednis been on them over a month now/i have colitis/ the tablets have been fantastic completely cleared up so far ! and i have had no probs with it so far? im on 4 day for a week then 3 a week then 2 ect! then the doc recommend i go on sumthin different after that! they give me a huge appetite xxgoodiuck

i was on prednisalone on and off for 2 years because they never really worked for me but im not on them no more because having surgery soon. I had side effects with prednisalone like big round face, acne and always hungry lol im so glad im not on them now hope you get better soon!

thanks for your answer. I am greatful. I got a call from the GI doc and he has asked me to stop taking them asI am due in for colonoscopy again on thursday this week. Hopefully, this time arounnd they will be able to get around the bends in my colon, as last time they could not. LOL
