Weight gain

What should I be looking for in terms of a drink if I'm hoping to merely put on a few pounds? I obviously need a drink that my stomach can handle with Crohn's Disease. Is something like Boost or Ensure something I should try? Besides calories, what other nutritional values (protein? others?) should I be looking for? Is there anything anyone can suggest?

Hi,

I am on a high protein diet because of my crohn's and personally I buy the High protein chocolate boost drinks when they come on sale at walmart and have 1 a day or 1 every 2 days. You should also be taking nutritional supplements if you are not already if you are concerned about weight gain.

I lost 35 lbs during my most recent flareup (lost that in a month) - I am on a high protein, high calcium and energy diet which tends to pack the lbs on quite quickly but I am big on stirfrys now with fish or seafood thrown in to get the nutrients and energy without too much lbage. ;)

Definitely get some boost or ensure and spread them out a bit. Make sure you are taking enough calcium and vitamin d as well and your vitamin b to keep away infections and the like...

Read read read...lots of info on line about this, or tons you could get out of your local library. :)

Good luck!
