anal fistula

anal fistula

Hi, if anyone can helpI would be so grateful. A little knowledge as to why and how I can improve my case would be so appreciated.

I had a spot at the very beginning of my anus which got infected and turned into an abscess, This was just over 2 and a half years ago. The swelling spread into my upper inside thigh before I had realised what it was. I went to hospital and had it drained and cauterised, it was extremely painful and healing took a long time.

A few months later it came back and I had another operation which created a fistula, I think. This was more successful, but 2 years have passed by and after on off  antibiotics I still have a small amount of colourless fliud that seaps out the wound where the operation was initiated. I'm now trying tumeric now as a natural remedy.
Thanks

As far as a fistula is concerned, there are very few options. If you choose to do nothing, you will continue to drain from that opening. It is not life threatening, but it can be a nuisance. Your other options include a plug, or other surgical procedures. If you are really bothered by it, I would tell you Dr, and they can point in the right direction as far as surgery is concerned. Good luck.
