small colon

My daughter has had diarrhea and vomiting for 4 months, her doctor has performed a colonoscopy and upper gi, he has told her she has acid reflux and a very small colon. What can be done for her. Instead of her doctor explaining to her what it means to have a very small colon he told her to make an appountment to she him after his vacation in 2 weeks. We are seeking help from another doctor. She was not even given meds for the acid reflux. We are looking for an explaination of what has transpired.
