House panel: No administration wrongdoing in Benghazi attack

http://www.sfchronicle.com/politics/article/House-panel-No-administration-wrongdoing-in-5663509.php

"The House Intelligence Committee, led by Republicans, has concluded that there was no deliberate wrongdoing by the Obama administration in the 2012 attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, that killed Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans, said Rep. Mike Thompson of St. Helena, the second-ranking Democrat on the committee.

The panel voted Thursday to declassify the report, the result of two years of investigation by the committee. U.S. intelligence agencies will have to approve making the report public.

Thompson said the report "confirms that no one was deliberately misled, no military assets were withheld and no stand-down order (to U.S. forces) was given."..........."

I wish you could look it up... 2 times I voted for the guy.  I don't understand how more democrats (any for that matter) are not up in arms.

teko, I'd praise the guy all day long if he were doing the simple things that he PROMISED on the campaign trail.  He's just not knocking down things he said he would.  One thing I really wanted to see out of him and he punched it around on the trail really good was "transparency".  These people are as or more secretive than any administration before them.

I'd love to praise the guy...  I respect the office just enough... At least as much as I did during the last administration.

What does your link have to do with anything? A loan of $535 million was given to Solyndra, they went bankrupt and tax payers have to pay for it now.

What accusations are you talking about? That Susan Rice LIED to the American public? That they knew that this was not because of a Youtube video yet tried to make that connection? That a call for more security was denied before the attack took place? That people died and America was lied to about it?

Respect the office not the man.

"173thousand each we pay them to do nothing but point fingers at the president and say no." What did Dems do with Bush? They just passed everything he wanted? Has Obama tried to work with Republicans, NO. Will Harry Reid bring bills up for a vote that was passed by the Republican controled House? NO. Who is the party of NO?????

My guy? How about OUR president? Anything to diss him right? You cannot even give him the respect of the office? No, you never voted for that man, I dont believe it for a nano second. You are too negative about his person and everything he does or doesnt do, or stands for,  which tells me its not the policy alone that gets to ya.

Morning Brice! LOL

Answering a question with a question is a wonderful way to avoid a question.

I did vote for Obama and I am thoroughly disgusted, but I did it knowing what I would get.  Unfortunately I was wrong about that.

I still think its funny that an investigation that cleared your guy and the money spent on it is being called useless and costly... at the very least it has been proven that your guy is clear of deliberate wrong doing.  (In other circumstances, he would have had to pay an attorney to clear his name.)  But at the same time you laugh off giving Solyndra $500+million and we got no return.... nothing.... And there is no problem with that?  (Not if you're a democrat.)  I'm surprised Obama didn't call them back up, give them another $500 million just for answering the phone.

LOL! You are kidding me right? The republicans fund raised off those four deaths in Benghazi, that is what it was all about, to rile their base. No, what you need to look up is how much in total they spent trying to prove or come up with evidence of all their accusations on our dime, then throw in the shutdown of the government and tally into that all the 173thousand each we pay them to do nothing but point fingers at the president and say no.

Oh I forgot, You said you voted for Obama..... LOL, You would never know it love!

Can ya tell I missed ya? I really really did!!!!

I'll look it up, but I wonder how much money was spent on this investigation compared to what the government gave Solyndra?

Now liberals are concerned with money?  Well I guess that would be right.  If its not being spent on something they love, they are against it.

And the same thing happened in the beghazi case as well. Even if it did take how many commities and how many investigations to show the first one was correct? So what is the difference I wonder?????

And as much as we heard about benghazi over the last couple of years, how come this has not been covered with vigor by our fair and balanced media I wonder?

I bet fox has barely covered it, if at all, yet they have stirred the pot all this time. Anyone got a link to them covering it?

9/11 was investigated heavily by the government, and recommendations were made by the panel. Do you not remember the 9/11 Commission and it's report?

Thanks Barb! Im glad to be back.

Brice, Or one could wonder about the millions of dollars and time and accusations made with nothing to back it up and wonder why no one considered investigating 9/11 with such vigor. I guess that was a waste of time and money?

You can easily look at this as them trying to find the administration as guilty by deliberately doing harm to Americans.  On the other hand, you could take an optimistic approach and think that they are doing all they can to be sure there was not a deliberate attempt.

If they weren't thorough, didn't take their time and just rushed to a guilty verdict, every liberal in the nation would have been up in arms. ??? Just liberals? Well that is sad. But the thing is how many committees and investigations already came to that conclusion? But no, they made the accusation and spent all that time and money trying to prove their accusations. Its BS is what it is.

If it were found as deliberate, they would have wanted to pin it to someone.  That's what laws are for, and I have no idea what took so long.  Personally, I am glad they were thorough with this investigation.  Maybe this part of it goes to bed now...  If they weren't thorough, didn't take their time and just rushed to a guilty verdict, every liberal in the nation would have been up in arms.

So, now we know that there was no intent to cause harm to Americans.  That is a big deal to me.  I mean, everyone involved just basically got cleared of treason.  That's a big deal to me.

I think all of the "hooplah" was about finding some accountability from someone, somewhere.

It's kind of like, you "accidentally" shoot someone versus pre-meditated murder.  You'd still be guilty, but you'd also be held accountable for the death.

Deliberate? What do you think all the hooplah was about exactly? To tie this with the president is what it was. The initial investigations already determined that things were done wrong and the white house and hillary have adhered to the changes requested. So if it was not good enuff then? What took so long to come to that same conclusion after all the time and money spent? If they didnt want it to be a deliberate thing, why were the initial investigation results with recommended changes enuff then as opposed to now?
