Class?  What an idiot....  She could have had a little class and kept her mouth shut, but nope!

I keep waiting for someone to generalize, and say that "all Republicans must feel this way".

Wait for it... wait for it...

"This latest incident was a deliberate, boneheaded attempt to get at someone through their children and it doesn't surprise me that Rep. Fincher would put as much distance between himself and this person as quickly as possible,"

That's one way to look at it.  Or it could be someone who is so frustrated with the way things are, perhaps her own life ***** so bad that she is angry and bitter about everything, so she deflected her anger towards those two girls.

Or, it could be any number of things.  In the end, it certainly was uncalled for and it lacked the very class this woman was apparently looking for.

I was living in Austin while Dubya's kids were getting trashed on the taxpayers dime. Trust me, press, public, Secret Service, family, and 'staffers' all cut them way more slack than was good for them. If Sasha and Malia ever behave that way, have at it.

How many Left leaning staffers said negative things about the Bush sisters, and still kept their jobs? Quite a few I'd imagine.

But whatever. One less WH staffer to pay, so less tax-dollars being spent. All's well that ends well.

I think a lot of careers have been unnecessarily called for in the last couple of years.  This one?  Don't think it was cause for losing a job but more along the lines of pretty stupid.

I think what she said was idiotic, at best, sure... but resigning?

Is THAT what we've come to?

You make a mistake and say something stupid, and you lose your career???

More Irony.....................

GOP Staffer Who Attacked Obama Girls Was Arrested During Her Own "Awful Teen Years"

The Republican congressional aide who castigated the Obama daughters for their lack of “class” and dressing as if they were angling for a “spot at a bar” was once arrested for larceny during her own “awful teen years,” court records show.

In a November 27 Facebook post, Elizabeth Lauten criticized Sasha and Malia Obama for looking bored while their father pardoned a pair of turkeys the day before Thanksgiving. While noting that, “I get you’re both in those awful teen years,” Lauten, 31, counseled the teens to “try showing a little class. At least respect the part you play.”

In her “Dear Sasha and Malia” note, Lauten remarked that the president and First Lady Michelle Obama “don’t respect their positions very much, or the nation for that matter, so I’m guessing you’re coming up a little short in the ‘good role model’ department.” Lauten concluded by urging the girls to “Rise to the occasion. Act like being in the White House matters to you. Dress like you deserve respect, not a spot at a bar. And certainly don’t make faces during televised public events.”

Until her resignation this morning, Lauten served as communications director for Rep. Steven Fincher, a Tennessee Republican. In the face of criticism about her attack on the Obama daughters, Lauten said that “many hours of prayer” helped her realize that her Facebook screed was “hurtful.”

Lauten, pictured above, was arrested in December 2000 for misdemeanor larceny, according to court records. Lauten, then 17, was collared for stealing from a Belk department store in her North Carolina hometown.

Because Lauten was a first-time offender, her case was handled via the District Court’s deferred prosecution program, which resulted in the charge’s eventual dismissal after the future scold stayed out of trouble for a prescribed period.

Since Lauten was just another teenager caught shoplifting at the mall, it appears unlikely that she was publicly pilloried for her lack of class, nor were her parents criticized as poor role models.

NBC: Elizabeth Lauten to resign after Obama girls comments
USA TODAY Network 11:18 a.m. EST December 1, 2014

Republican party staffer Elizabeth Lauten told NBC News she is "resigning today" after making controversial comments about Sasha and Malia Obama, according to NBC News.

Lauten told NBC News via phone Monday that her departure is already "in the works," NBC reports.

Lauten apologized earlier on Facebook for "judging" the girls at the annual White House turkey pardoning event.

"I quickly judged the two young ladies in a way that I would never have wanted to be judged myself as a teenager," she said.

The communications director for U.S. Rep. Steve Fincher, R-Tenn., went on to say that "after many hours of prayer, talking to my parents, and re-reading my words online I can see more clearly just how hurtful my words were."

The comments that created a media firestorm asked for the Obama girls to "show more class" during the annual event.

"Dear Sasha and Malia: I get you're both in those awful teen years, but you're a part of the First Family, try showing a little class. At least respect the part you play," Lauten wrote in a Facebook post.

She added, "Rise to the occasion. Act like being in the White House matters to you. Dress like you deserve respect, not a spot at a bar," NBC News reports. She later took that Facebook post down.

Diana Reese, contributor to the Washington Post, took aim at Lauten, for her use of language, saying that she should not pick on Obama's kids.

"If Lauten were a mom, particularly of teen girls, she'd have a lot more empathy, I suspect, and she'd probably agree with me that kids in the White House should be off-limits to media scrutiny," Reese wrote.

She also drew a parallel to the comments that radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh made about Chelsea Clinton during the Clinton White House years. Limbaugh called Clinton a dog.
