In other words, counting the margin for error I get a range of perhaps April 10 to April 16 or so, for conception.  Not early enough to be the first guy.

If the ultrasound tech said you were 9 weeks 4 days "pregnant", it would not count back to conception but to two weeks before conception, even in Mississippi.   All medical counts of pregnancy (the GA, which is the number like 6 weeks 3 days or 11 weeks 4 days) begin on the first day of the last period you had before getting pregnant, or a computed first day of last period (computed from averages of lots of women), calculated at 2 weeks before conception.  If a doctor says to a woman, "Congratulations, you are 8 weeks pregnant!" he means 8 weeks since her last period began, or about 6 weeks since conception.

The count is done this way because the period is a big, obvious signal, not because the doctor thinks you are pregnant when you are on day 1 of your cycle.  That's why pregnancy, which takes 38 weeks or 266 days from ovulation to full term, is counted as being 40 weeks long.  I'm sure they do count full-term pregnancy in Mississippi as being 280 days, the same way they do in all the other 49 states.  They add a spare two weeks at the front to count back to the presumed first day of the last period.

This can sometimes mean that a woman's GA count given to her by a doctor does not align perfectly with when the first day of her last period really was.  (A woman who has 60-day cycles, for example, might ovulate at day 46, and trying to compare to what the doctor said was the first day of her gestational age would not match up.  But the ultrasound sees and measures the actual embryo, so for a woman who gets a GA count that doesn't line up with her real period, she should believe the GA count, less two weeks, for dating conception.)  When the doc told you that you were 9 weeks 4 days 'pregnant,' he was saying your embryo measured about what an embryo would measure that had been conceived 7 weeks 4 days ago.

The only other thing to remember is that ultrasounds can become less accurate for determining a conception date as the pregnancy progresses, since although all embryos begin life as one cell, some grow more quickly or slowly than others.  An ultrasound at 6 weeks 1 day can be spot-on for dating conception, and then in the same pregnancy an ultrasound at 12 weeks can have a margin for error of +/- about 7 days.  This puts your ninth week scan at about halfway in this count, or with a margin for error of +/- 3 or 4 days.

I asked about the guy on the 2nd because sperm can live in your system a while.  But even if his sperm lived 5 or 6 days after the 2nd, I don't see it quite stretching to the 11th, which is when your ninth-week ultrasound suggests you conceived, even with a three-day margin for error computed in.  It's a close thing, but I don't think so.  Is the baby a boy?  If so, that would be even a stronger suggestion he is from your boyfriend and not the first guy.

Here in Mississippi they go by your last lmp always & go from there...  but that's exactly what the dating scan had on there..

Yes it was unprotected and yes I had it done at a On clinic.. considering March 31st was my lmp they only use that date so after they did my first dating scan they told my 9weeks4days due date January 6,2016
