Braces with missing teeth

Braces with missing teeth

In the very near future, I'm going to the periodontist about extracting a tooth (#19) and getting a bone graft.  I understand that I'll need to get an implant to avoid future problems, but I'm curious about getting braces (either invisalign or whatever).  I understand that I would need to get the braces completed before my implant is placed into the jaw.  However, I'm curious on the time-frame I have before bone resorption.    I understand these are questions I should be asking an orthodontist or periodontist, but I'm wondering if there's anyone out there that can appease my curiosity.

Thanks in advance.

honestly, you need to talk to both your periodontist and an orthodontist and have them look at your bone with xrays and make a judgement based on your own anatomy.  Everyone is different and will respond to treatment differently.  You might could even get the 2 doctors to talk to each other and come up with a solution together.
