Could mercury cause this?

I haven't felt well for about the last year and a half. About the time I had a cavity filled with silver. My problems started with balance. Sitting or standing at times I felt I could fall over. Later it progressed to heart palpitations that would jolt me awake at night. I then developed anxiety and anxiety attacks. I didn't really buy that they were the problem, but more of just another symptom. Lately, the only symptoms (I say this because I did have a ton) I seem to have are extreme tiredness, the inability to exercise alot, feeling ill after eating, feeling like I could faint, head fog or feeling that my head is floating, inability to focus and pressure in my forehead. I'm 22 years old, not over weight and up until recently have been active. I'm getting tested for mercury toxicity because I had a filling fall out and I think I swallowed it a while back. I'm also possibly going to look into hypoglycemia, hypotension or pots. Any other suggestions or comments?

I have never experienced a patient with your symptoms attributed to an amalgam(silver) filling. There has been on going controversy concerning the toxicity of silver restorations that contain mercury. It has been the American Dental Associations stance after extensive research that this type of filling is safe. Certainly a visit to your MD would be appropriate.

i had ongoing problems for along time incouding all of your symptoms. I had seeral things going on which I think were related. The fundamental problem was food allergies to wheat/gluten and soy. This made me feel ill often and made it hard to breathe - stomach bloating made it hard to use my diaphragm preoperly. I ended up chest breathing which led to hyper ventilation syndrome - over inflation of the chest and feelings of not getting enough air - in fact I was getting too much air which led to dizziness, tingling - the fear of feeling like drowing led to panic attacks - tons of adrenhalin - shaking. Doctor thought it might be hypoglycemia but during one nasty episode ending up at the hospital shuddering uncontrollably - they tested my glucose level and it was fine - jsut too much adrenhalin. Also I think I had symptoms of celiac disase at the time (serious gluten  intollerance problems) I had chronic fatigue and couldn't even get out of bed for Christmas day with all the relatives downstairs. Also had terrible headaches between my eyebrows that was totally debilitating. Would end up in the foetal position on the floor at work every minrnig for 9 days - I had changed breakfast cereals to something that shold have been healthier. The other problem was post nasal drip that choked my at night. I'd eat pasta which was great except I couldn't get to sleep for about 7 hours later bcause of the mucous and cough. Cutting out wheat, gluten and soy has brought me back to normal almost instantly. I improved on the first day and am now normal again! Also had breathing retraining to use the diaphragm but that only really imprived after I started the avoidance diet. I am yt to get a diagnosis on celiax disease - just enjoying being active and breathing again! I had no luck with doctors and througha ll the usual possibles - amalgam, allergies to airborne things, etc. best of luck
