Cracked Tongue

Since as far back as I can remember, I've had a tongue that has a whole bunch of cracks on it. It has a pretty big one right down the middle, a bunch of little slits on the sides. When i was born the Doctor told my mom that I have a geographical tongue but I've looked up what a geographical tongue is and realized that at one time I had it but not anymore. Now it's just a bunch of cracks. There isn't anything on any website about a cracked tongue so I wondered if anybody can tell me why I have it or much less anything about it at all.

Would this make it easier to get viruses transmitted via blood like aids if performing oral sex etc? This is important to know because I have the same condition but the doctor says I have to learn to live with it .. it bleeds, it hurts and I'm worried about getting aids.

There must be a way to cure it????

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
This situation might be what is called a furrowed tongue. This is a beign anatomic tongue. If in fact this is the correct diagnosis then what you should be aware of is to keep the furrows as clean as possible. That means brushing your tongue frequently. See an oral surgeon to confirm the diagnosis.
