DRY SOCKETS! help!

i had my wisdom teeth removed last monday and it has now been ten days. after the pain meds they gave me ran out (about five days in) i felt fine! it wasn't until the sixth day that my jaw started aching. i though it was normal for my jaw to ache. it wasn't until today that i realized i had dry sockets. my friend noticed that i was taking a tylenol and said "do your teeth still hurt" she had had hers removed and after the first day the pain had gone away for her!! so i went home and got online and started researching drysockets!! and i have them!! I've been trying not too take too many tylenol (for my liver) but with the pain im still taking two every six hours or so. after calling my oral surgen (and getting the answering machine, cause it was late) i went to the minor er and he gave me some better pain meds, but he really couldn't do anything. i was wondering how long these will take too heal?? im in alot of pain! and by the time it gets looked at by a dentist it will have been about two weeks(because it's fourth of july weekend!)!!! is that REALLY bad!!! my mouth has a horrible taste and i can't open it all the way still!!!!! how long will it take to heal???? have i messed my jaw up? or hurt the bone by waiting so long?

My dentist claimed that I developed Dry Socket 3 days after the extraction. Now he is stating that it is an infection. You may want to look into it more and make sure that it isn't an infection you have.

yea sounds like dry sockets...OUCH!!...maybe even an infection cause you said it taste bad......dont worry about your liver taking them for a while isnt going to hurt you....people who abuse them and take well over the amount needed over a few years have stomach problems.....so i would suggest taking those meds!...your going to need them!......i understand that its 4th of july weekend, but monday morning you need to call them and tell them they need to get you in ASAP!....that you think you have an infection and they need to look at it!.....dont let them tell you no.....need to get in there b4 it gets worse and goes into you gums....good luck ......
