Pain 6 weeks after tooth extraction

I have hypercementosis(mis spell) and had an extraction of number 4 tooth 6 weeks ago. I'm experience a lot of pain and the only thing that helps is my finger in place of the missing tooth. I've had two course of antibotics. The area has been checked twice and they thought I might need a root canal in tooth number 5. Specialist checked with no reaction to hot, cold and pressure so she prescribed oral rinse. I looked and the area is white but doctor said that it's healing. Another doctor said  just by looking at the xray that tooth number 5 needed treatment. Help what is it?

Thank you for your answer to this post.  I had a surgical extraction of a molar 3 weeks ago. The surgeon had trouble getting it out as he had to cut the gums and dig it out.  It is still bothering me.  I am glad to know it will take longer to heal than I thought.

In a normal tooth extraction, it takes about 6 to 8 weeks for the gum and bone to completely fill. But still you are facing the pain after six month of tooth extraction, then you need a professional help to get relief.
